TypeType is a webapp for generating random texts, utilizing the letters that were found on book covers from the Cyprological Book Archive. It accesses a library of cut-out glyphs (letters, numbers and punctuations) to create an original mashed-up typographic synthesis. There are no complete alphabet sets from one typeface. What you get is every letter from every book cover that was scanned from the archive.

How to use TypeType

• Works with Greek letters (uppercase and lowercase), numbers and a bit of punctuation.
• For the whole shabang use Chrome or Safari. Firefox will glitch.
• Clicking on any given glyph, you will be prompted, with the full glyph repository.
• You can change text alignment, letter spacing, background color and save your synthesis as a jpg.
• You can press Escape to close the About popup or the glyph context menus.
